Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thong, Executive Director of Pacific College, expressed gratitude to Ms. Carol Lee Humphreys, President of Sofia University, and her delegation for visiting and working with Pacific College.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thong shared that, since its founding in 2007, Pacific College has aimed to provide students in Can Tho City and surrounding provinces with access to a high-quality educational environment focused on comprehensive personal and academic development to meet the demands of innovation and integration. Over the years, the school community has worked tirelessly to educate successive generations of students, contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce for society.
In addition to optimizing the Ministry of Education and Training's curriculum, the school emphasizes interdisciplinary teaching, project-based learning, and specialized topics. Notably, the school’s One-to-One English program offers students the opportunity to study with native-speaking teachers and develop language skills in a personalized manner, enhancing their communication abilities and building confidence to participate in activities outside of school.
Alongside academic training, the school emphasizes skill-building programs, such as the “Values for Growth” initiative, which focuses on skill development and physical fitness to encourage creativity and proactivity in students’ learning and development.
Pacific College is also a pioneering institution in introducing the STEM Robotics Program at various grade levels, enabling students to explore and develop critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills. Recently, students have participated in numerous robotics projects and competitions nationally and internationally, achieving impressive awards, notably winning the championship at the 2023 Global Robotics Games held in Singapore.
In the past academic year, 100% of the students graduated and were accepted into top universities across the country, including University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, Ton Duc Thang University, Hoa Sen University, Hong Bang International University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, the Political Officers College, and Can Tho University. Many students also qualified for study-abroad programs in advanced countries around the world.
To further support students’ holistic development, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thong hopes that, through the Can Tho City Vietnam-USA Friendship Association, Pacific College and Sofia University will strengthen collaboration in providing psychology courses for teachers, as well as additional support in AI and semiconductor materials.
