INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

OVERVIEW OF THE ENGLISH PROGRAM

At Pacific High School (PIC), students will receive an enhanced English program based on Cambridge standards. The intensive English program offers a structured learning path from grade 1 to grade 12, with continuous evaluation throughout the learning process. The curriculum is carefully selected to suit each age group, ensuring that students achieve an IELTS score of 5.0 upon completion.

The highlight of the enhanced English program at PIC is its dual focus on academic content for obtaining international English certificates and practical application in communication and presentation. This program also equips students with the necessary skills to become global citizens through specially designed English extracurricular activities for each educational level. The Premium English package allows students to engage with English across various life domains.

Pacific High School is also recognized by the British Council as an IELTS test venue, affirming the quality of the school's English training since 2020.

TARGETS

Preschool: The goal of the program is to develop children's listening and speaking skills, help them remember vocabulary and sentence structures, and initially pronounce words correctly like native speakers.

Primary school: Students are trained in listening, speaking, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Additionally, they learn English terminology for math and science, practice solving math problems in English, conduct experiments, and relate English science subjects to real-world applications. The output standards for each grade are as follows: grades 1-2: Starters, grades 3-4: Movers, grade 5: Flyers.

High school: "One-on-one" communication classes with both Vietnamese and foreign teachers help students develop all four skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing). The program integrates the SLATE skill set (Soft skills, Life skills, Academic skills, Test-taking skills, English skills). It also develops students' essay writing skills, including presentation language, applied knowledge, research skills, citation of reference documents, presentation, and debate skills, to prepare them for international education. The output standards are KET certification for grades 7-8, PET for grade 9, and IELTS 5.0 for high school students.

DETAILED PROGRAM

Preschool: Children learn English through the Eduplay Friends curriculum, with kindergarten classes following individually compiled topics by the school. At this stage, children enjoy games and outdoor activities, so the Pacific education system employs English teaching methods suitable for preschoolers. These include learning vocabulary through vibrant illustrations, practicing listening through fun songs and movies, practicing pronunciation with English games, and learning natural communication through themed role-playing games, creating an engaging English learning environment connected with extracurricular activities.

Primary school: Students learn English using the Power Up curriculum and are assessed at the levels of Starters (Pre-A1), Movers (A1), and Flyers (A2). Additionally, students enhance their English communication skills through one-on-one interactions with native teachers and through extracurricular activities. They also study the Cambridge Maths & Science curriculum to become familiar with Maths and Science in English.

High school: Middle school students follow the Think curriculum, while high school students use the Mindset for IELTS curriculum. Students are assessed according to international standards (KET, PET, IELTS) to ensure they meet the expected outcomes. They develop confident English communication skills through one-on-one learning, participate in English projects to improve their SLATE skills, and engage in specially designed English extracurricular activities.
